Empowerment

The shareholders and directors of Exigent Security Group at the inception of the company acknowledged that empowerment and meaningful transformation would be a core value that would underpin the growth of our company. It is a value that we embraced in spirit and have shown to be true by our actions and good corporate governance initiatives.

We engaged in a three tier approach to achieving empowerment compliance.

  • We began negotiations with various entities in order to welcome a BEE equity partner into our organization
  • We discussed the creation of an employee share trust scheme
  • We began to align ourselves with suppliers who were BEE compliant

Today we have achieved our objectives but are constantly on the look out for new initiatives that can further enhance our path toward achieving total empowerment compliance.

Ownership / Shareholding Structure

Exigent Security Group is proud to have concluded an agreement with The Zatic Group in March of 2006. We have welcomed them as 30% shareholders into our group.

ShareTrust Scheme

Exigent Security Group has committed, in principle, to the creation of a Share trust scheme which will constitute a 5% ownership of our company.

Procurement

Our procurement policy insists that all suppliers to our company are required to have a minimum of 25.1% empowerment firmly in place. We review and inspect all new suppliers to Exigent Security Group to verify this compliance principle.

Broadbased Black Economic Empowerment Initiatives

We believe that it is critical that empowerment reach grass roots and regional level where it can be of most benefit to the communities amongst whom we do business.

Our intention is to create subsidiary companies on a regional level where members of the local community will enjoy shareholding within the subsidiary. The local community will be our target market for employment and we will train, mentor and grow them to the point where they can and will make a meaningful contribution to the day to day running of the operations.
